Teaching
My commitment to inclusive teaching has been shaped by my experiences as a student and a teacher in multiple academic institutions in the United States and China. In my classroom, I endeavor to inspire students to critically engage with social and political theories to grasp real-world events.

Asian Cities in Comparative Perspectives
At Johns Hopkins University, I was awarded the Dean’s Teaching Fellowship to develop and teach an undergraduate seminar entitled Asian Cities in Comparative Perspectives. Using Asian cities as focal points, students learned to apply, but also challenge, the concepts and theories generated from Western cities. I strived to diversify the readings by including more works from non-Western scholars and female scholars, especially for topics on Asian cities.
